Day 4

from Sketchtober by Patrick McMinn

/

about

From 10/4/2015:

Some slowed-down acoustic guitar with a percussive envelope makes the deep booms that go throughout the track.
I stacked about 50 saw oscillators with a linear random distribution across the mid-high frequency range in SuperCollider to make the nasty whines that come to dominate the second half of the sketch.
There's a lot of low end in this one, so if you're going to listen, something other than laptop or smartphone speakers would be a good idea.
This is the first one of these that I'm not satisfied with. It just doesn't feel cohesive or complete. That said, it feels important just to get it done and out there. This is also an exercise in working quickly and learning to trust my creative intuition.
